a few weeks ago 1 of my rear barings was whining so i channged the baring. problem sorted.
Now after just a few weeks its whining again, i took off to have a look there was rust around the baring, was it not fitted properly or is there another problem. plz help

The rear bearings are simple to fit so it shouldn't be too hard to see if their wrong. Both halves should fit snuggly up against a shoulder. Did you pack it full of the special grease? If so there should be no way it could rust.... :?:

If it all looks good, tighten them up, they're on tapers to let you do that.

sound slike you never packed it with copper grease

no way for rust to get in if it packed full of the sticky stuff

You shouldn't really do it this way, but.....

Get the bearing and push it into the tub of grease until you can't see it, then fish it out and put it on.

the bearing may be making noise as it is running dry

if this is the case im unsure wether u can resue it or not :?

try chrises suggestion

if it STILL continues im afraid u sh@gged the bearing running it dry

Get a haynes manual and read it. Its important to exactly follow the correct tightening procedure - you may have it too tight?

To the best of my knowledge copper grease isnt used for packing bearings. Its designed to be an anti sieze compound. New bearing are either supplied with fresh grease or have info on the correct grease to use
