I think if it is a standard 1.3SR replacement throttle cable then the only place I found to get a cable was Vauxhall for around £35. Otherwise try a MK1 astra 1300 cable (eBay is the best palce) then cut it and add a suitable nipple etc.

what does the B stand for in the 13sb, i thought carbs ended in V

according to the engine code guide

B = IBC (Inverted Brayton Cycle, in laymens terms, the recurculation of gasses)

I'm sure 1300's were just 13S as well

No they are definitely 13SB. Astra's and Cav's had the 13S engine. From what I have seen though there is very little difference (apart from inlets and carbs etc). I thought the B stood for higher CR from the TV magazine.

fairly sure the first letter after the numbering is the comp. ratio, like 14'N'V or 16'S'V & 16'S'E.

i think jacks right, but i havent a clue what he's talkin about lol

^ it is.

Just checked the Nova engine codes, no 13S; so yeah thats probably an Astra etc engine.

the IBC would probably be better suited to the XE, and it needs branding as ' irritable bowel cyndrome ' guaranteed to crap yourself with one in a nova.

edit : that wasnt funny was it... just ban me allready.

Jack

That would have been funny if

a) "syndrome" was indeed spelt with a C. Its not.
b) XE novas were fast. They're not.

Oh dear lol

[edit] Unless you mean crap yourself because you don't know whats going to fall off next lol

Yes a 1300 and 1400 cable is the same item iirc, as we fitted one to novafusion's saloon the other weekend when we fitted a 1400 SR engine:thumb:
