Hi-Are all 1.2/1.4/1.6 8v cylinder heads compatable with each other? Can I fit a 1.2 on a 1.4 block?I have a 1.2 nz corsa engine and a 1.4 nz and I want to improve the 1.4's performance.I know the compression ratios could be different and the inlets could be different. Will a 1.6 head fit a 1.4? Thanks

So long as you have another Spi head the inlets will be the same. and the compression would be the same as well tbh!
No point, just port/polish the head or drop a C14SE lump in there (should you not want to go bigger!)
from a pm I sent someone last week
crash course in ports :d
Round ports - 1.6 GTE/GSI and 1.4 SRI (all MPI engines)
Square ports - 1.4 Carb and 1.4 + 1.2 SPI engines
Cathedral ports - 1.2 and 1.3 carb engines (cathedral means like a church window shape)
hope that helps

Hi-Thanks for the replies-I understand the issue with the ports and for my engine it isn't an issue-What I should have asked in the original post is-will any 8v 1.2/1.4/1.6 head fit a 1.4 block, with regard to oil ways and waterways lining up? Thanks
basically yes they all fit.
CR needs measuring though incase you get some crazy diesel style CR lol
