hi i have just purchased a tidy nova sri and it seams to drive supurb but one thing i have noticed is that when you come to engage 5th it seams that it isnt there to engage. however if i press down on the stick (like you would for reverse) you can get 5th,

ive never driven an sri before so dont know if this normal but ive never come accross before in any other car.

can anyone shed any light is it an adjustment job.

Its not normal, Its the linkage that needs adjusting. Theres a 13mm bolt if you get under the car, and follow the rod from the shifter and it goes into a clamp type thing with a bolt coming from the top.

Its a common problem. May be worth having a search for other help.

unless its had a four speed stick assembly in which case, you just need to remove the gaitor and cut off a bit of the white block on the drivers side.
