How do i fine adjust 5th without the special tool that is required in the haynes manual? What is the special tool? :?
News to me Dude. I'm not at home at the moment but PM me the page number in Haynes and I'll have a look when I get back from this business trip.
Answer this though, why do you want to do this anyway? Are you sure it's not just the linkage needing adjusting?
I've never bothered to use the special tool, but your main dealer might lend you it for a small contribution to their tea & bickie fund.
just fiddle with the linkage until it feels ok.
If you have fitted a 5 speed box in place of a 4 speeder, you will need the 5 speed linkage as well. they are different.

not all are the same... my 1.2i 4 speed linkage was fine for my 2.0 16v... some earlier models eg E reg phase 2 sr had an adjuster under the gear gator
