Look at all that space you have to work on a car in comfort! Looks like you have all the parts too, get it done to state so that you can drive it (i.e doesn't have to be fully painted) take it for a spin and then you'll be able to make an informed decision. Its easy to get disheartened when all you have is a shell and bits, and you've lost sight of how fun it is to drive.

Think of it this way, when its finished, you can take it on a track and not worry that a bit of a slip on water or oil will mean instant death - the way they would on a bike or quad.

its not a for sale thread, just saying how i feel and if anyone else feels/felt the same and what helped them continue?

I've been doing my astra up for about 16 months and I've felt like giving it up every so often and I've just soldiered on and the past few weeks its really been transformed from a wreck to nice looking albeit multi-coloured car, my mate came round last night and was full of praise for it, and knowing you've done it all yourself will be the reward as well, just keep plugging away!

About a year and a half ago i stripped my nova, get fed up and look at newer cars that dont need work. Then think about how much fun it will be once its done, so crack on. Even if its only a few hours until i want to scrap it again lol

If i had a workshop like that i definatly would get on with it alot easier! Everything i do is on my drivway!

as said nice work area, get it done, I have to go to a mates or my nan and granddads to use their drives and that's no fun,

Just imagine the look on your passengers faces!!

Every week I used to get hacked off with mine, then Lee fitted the XE and we got it on the road, muchos happy. Til I realised standard XE Novas really aren't that fast, and got bored of it.

So we fitted a V6. Now I love it again lol

What he said TBH. Have a look at my build thread...been at it for years (6 at the last count  )....i too have thought about giving up, especially after the garage it was in caught fire.

You have it all there and a workshop! What more could you want??

dont give up , mine took me 12 years to do and most of the work was done in the last 6 months, was my first car when i was 17 :) and im now 30  but as of 2 weeks ago im now the proud owner of a nova turbo and loving it :thumb: i spent years just looking at all the body work i had to do and kept putting it off but stick with it and you'll be glad you didnt break it !!!

If there was a V8 that would go in relatively easy without too much fagging around I'd be buying one

If there was a V8 that would go in relatively easy without too much fagging around I'd be buying onei know you would fella, and wouldnt put it past you in the future(being a lover of american muscle type cars etc;) ).im sure you could squease one in behind the front seats with a few breeze block under the bonnet and in the boot, just to gain some traction.:d you know you want too:p
