Hi all,
Do the drive shafts just pull out of the front hubs?

Har har funny guys lol. Yes taken the bit off but still well in there! Tryed to use a hammer hitting on the end of the drive shaft. But won't move a bit!

make sure you dont damage the threads but it will come out aslong as the driveshaft is out the gearbox.

Put the nut on a few turns and hit the nut.

Yeah I have got the hub and the drive shaft in a vice! So just wd40 it up and keep hitting?

Yeah, but as said, put the nut on so you hit that instead of the CV or you'll ruin the thread. Or try a rubber mallet or something.

you sure you havent clamped the CV aswell as the hub ? ive never had to beat a CV out before ?

A 15 year old never removed before cv wont come out easily...

i have many a fukin time!! alot of wd40 sometimes works but 9 times out of 10 iv had to heat it up! id leave it over night soaked in wd40 then try it the next morning but as said either leave the nut on or get a large punch in the centre and hit it as hard as posible!! :thumb:

I'm sure I don't have the cv clamped! Behind the nut and washer is a tiny amount of rust so I'm sure it is just stuck in! As Ben said its pretty old. Well thanks for the advice guys. The sun is shineing so I'm off to finish!

I found that a 20mm socket made out of soft material is quite a good tool for persuading
rusty cv's out of hubs after a good lubrication! :thumb:
