Put it in the glovebox IMO. Leave the blank. Can't believe more people aren't doing that these days!
That's how I roll in the Volvo, original chrome job in standard position to chase away any potential tea leaves. :)

In my Nova I put a blanking plate in the standard radio hole and moved the elec window switches into it (car was quite stripped) HU in the glovebox FTW.

If the wires are there I suspect that they won't fit any up to date headunit.

Is that the power cable or a speaker cable. My Volvo 340 had speaker connections (direct into the head unit) that were similar!

No, mine had some bits of wire that were all the wrong colour!

:D Original FTW then.
Danny, my 360 has that for a power connection to the original HU too. Are/were you a tramper? (no funny jokes here please Draper :P)

My 340 was my first car, 1.7, £70 with T&T and £20 of fuel in the tank, long gone now though :(

I learnt a bit of the tramp drift RWD trade in it but wish still I had it now that I've got a bit more driving experience. I would throw it about a bit more than I did! I never seem to see 340/360s about now, let alone for stupid cheap. I'd have one in a flash though as a cheap second car.

With great difficulty going by your previous questions.

you just have to extend the wires into your glove box and make something to mount it :thumb:

easy as pie

You can get one of these
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_17 1963_langId_-1_categoryId_165626
and make it fit in your glovebox. The glovebox itself comes out with a few screws iirc, but watch out you don't damage the light in the box itself.
Screw this into place, then drill the back of the glovebox to allow wires to come in at the back. Maybe cut an ISO block from another (scrapyard) car, leaving you with the block and as much wire as you can out of the back of it.
You can then start splicing the power cables and speaker cables (if you CBA to run your own speaker cables...) into the ISO block. You can then plug your stereo into the newly wired in ISO block, meaning you don't have to chop your stereo's wiring loom, allowing it to be sold/used in future in any other car without too much fuss.

Disconnect the battery. Cut that plug off so you have 2 bare wires, you can either chop your wiring harness/loom from your stereo, or do what i suggested with an ISO block chopped from another car. The Red is your live and the brown is your earth. Are there any dash speakers, or any speakers in the pods either side of the parcel shelf?
