xe fuel pump question.

running a xe in my my nova, and currently have a standard 1.2i fuel pump in the tank. with a external inline bosh item under the tank. would the 1.2 pump be restricting the fuel flow. not really wanting a carb tank as the current one is almost new. could i replace the 1.2 pump for something more suitible? any help would be appreciated.

If it was me id make up a plate and then try and get the pipe in somehow without making it tight or caught on anything and then get it in the right place so it picks up fuel but not all the **** in the bottom of the tank.

sounds like a inexpensive plan. suppose id need some sort of filter or gauze on the pick up pipe tho to stop the sediment getting into the fuel lines.
