Alrite lads,
Im new on here but have a good knowledge of Nova's and Corsa's as i have raced 1.3SR's for the passed 3 years in autograss. i am going building a 93 Nova road car for running in purposes for my race engines. I have a spare exhaust system from Ashley with a 4 into 1 manifold and i will be using an F10 Gearbox and a 1'' 3/4 SU on custom manifold i also have spare. My Question is what is the biggest engine i can drop in when im not running in engines changine as little as possible? thanks

1.6 16v?

or with a bit of prep you could drop a XE in

with an f10 nothing bigger than a 1400sr engine i think? F13 mated to a 1600gsi/gte engine converted to carb would probably be the biggest easy swap.

Thanks for the replys lads! Sorry about the double thread as i said im new here and didnt think it worked the first time ha!!!
I know what your all saying about the F10s and the 1.6 engine (I reckon bout 2 Months it will last) but will the 1.6 bolt onto it?
Will the 1.3 exhaust system clear the Sump and inlet bolt on?
I am not exactly looking for a mint car rather something i can have a bit of fun with before i race the shell.
Last thing im wondering is what a short block 1.6 looks like? I have a cavalier 1.6 carb lying round at home think is bout 1990 would that be short or long? Or what are long and short block engine codes and i will check it?
Thanks lads

Cav 1600 sounds like a 16SV so smallblock.

The f10 would bolt on. As would most of the other stuff, A 1.3 inlet would bolt on but the ports would be mismatched.

Thanks a lot Stoo mate! I know the 1.6 has bigger ports but it shud get plenty fuel from the SU to compensate!file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/KEVINW%7E1/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg As for the Exhaust 4 branch will that clear the sump? As for the forced induction i have two Mk2 Fiat Uno turbos aswell ones up bout 200BHP so a nice spec N/A would be better fun i think! I presume most of you lads run a Bias controller so you can stop in a straight line HA? lol

I'd look at 1300, 1400 and 1600 (16SV) as these should be interchangeable with minimal effort. Anything other than that and you'll be looking at injection fueling and different mounts (if you go XE)

Mind you, once you've done the initial work for fitting a 180 or 152, a 1.3 would sit fine in a bay that had previously been used for a V6 - assuming you can be bothered to swap the fueling over as well each time. :d
