my Let nova project

Well i bought this nova last month as a rolling shell with the intention of taking the c20let from my corsa and putting it into the nova.
anyways some pics and more updates hopefully starting tonight

i didnt get any pics of the engine coming from the corsa to the nova mainly because i couldnt be assed.

will get some of the corsa looking sorry for itself though.
I have also fitted my wideband now aswell

just need to get the rad(tonight) and then finish the boost pipes and get another intercooler

done a few bits to mine and started now working on my mates now its down my unit aswell.

We own a mobile phone shop together and both plan to do trackdays in them together once there finished and stickered up with our shop stuff.

The white nova will be going the same yellow as mine and will be having a c20let fitted.

well took the skirts off last night to reveal some rust and a few holes in the sills.

either going to replace both sills or just put in a few patches.

skirts will cover it anyways. how easy are new sills to get?

finally got chance to fit the bucket seats and also fitted the harnesses
had to remove the door bars on the cage tho as i couldnt get in and out and couldnt have the seat in the correct place for me

also managed to remove the lightweight twin v pulley i had on the corsa and replaced it with a machined down single v pulley as wont be needing pas and the twin v was also catching on the chassis leg

Ill have a propper look over it tonight. Its got cav slabs in white, lowered 60-80mm all round on shocks and springs. Guessing standard breaks.


The engine runs C16xe has a manzel style powerbox and a complete stainless system with a 4 branch manifold.

Interior is pretty much stripped but has to shaged calibra leather seats in the front.

Exterior as said gsi kit complete and morrettes. Hoping i can sell enough off it to justify keeping the wheels and engine lol

if all goes well next weekend yes mate. Will take the drive down and have a nosey at the nova lol

right, went to bournemouth yesterday. leaving 6.30 to meet novarally(colin) to get a complete c20xe for a mate :)

got back and set to stripping my old inlet off and start to fit the new one, here is a few pictures:

Yes i know the grommet is missing from the power cable, just need to refit one. all is on fine, but just a few problems when it comes to the V6 throttle body. there are 4 vacuum outlets on the V6 but only 3 on the turbo one.

anyone got any pics of theres connected?

also on the tophat i had a dumpvalve take off, will i have to make one into my boost pipe? and also where does the idle control valve now connect to?

fitted one of the rear hubs last night, didnt have time for the other.

who runs vectra rear hubs? can i keep the vectra disc or do I have to use a cav v6 one??? any gen?

rubbed back all the wheels, masked the edges and gave some primer, rubbed back and then some colour. not finished but havent come out too bad.

5 stud front hubs will be back from machine shop this afternoon and will crack on with them tonight :)

right.... This went straight through an mot..

but i then drove it down the road from mot centre, and within 2 mins of driving the driver side wheel bearing had collapsed :( so i set about getting a new bearing pressed in etc and then all seemed fine... drove 2 mins down the road and it collapsed again :(

very very pissed off with it at this point, i stripped all the 5 stud gear off and is now sold lol...


I set about some new wheels and got offered these from a mate:

all good, i was thinking satin black with a yellow lip... but 7j and et 24 = :(

they fitted on fine, but the wheel would hit the rear arch if i was to go over any bumps lol

i now aquired a set of cav slabs through hobbit, cheers fella :)

not my ideal choice of wheel but gets the car moving :s

When you pressed them in, did you back press the outer race?

AKA, the 2 inner races are touching?

Was the 5 stud setup machined perfectly?

Yeah, I had this, but, you have to push the 2 inner races together from the back after pressing.

Due to them vibrating or some bollox a fitter in work saidlol

Here she is now in almost finished glory... havent had time yet to sort the wheels, will probably get them sprayed black.

the orange paint was all cracked where it hadnt been prepped properly. and i didnt want them to stay that colour as they looked pants. so i found a can of stonechip in the garage and set to work.

went right over the orange lol

will do until i get the blasted and painted, or if i sell them for some comps etc

undecided at the minute, just want to get some use out of her for now though :)
