View Full Version : Help, Need to find a Shell or car!

Hi,

I am new on here, but was quite a big vauxhall nut before I got into RS Turbos and stuff like that.

I have finally got the oppourtunity to get sum cash and can now afford to get a Nova and recreate my old beast which had a healthy shot of nitrous!

Problem is at the min, every car I bid on ebay gets outbid and I need some help finding either a good shell with ID or a complete car, rust not an issue and I can weld and the whole car will be stitch welded but not a complete rotter.

Anyone got any ideas on where I could find one? Tried in the other page but all a bit too pricey for me! Near the Birmingham Area!

I will upload some pics of my old car when I get em scanned in!

my mate has a very tidy i.2 laser blue diamond for sale for about 500 quid

it has gsi interior electric windows proper sunroof with tilt slide and is rust free

got tax or test as aint got a trailer or would need to sort pick up.

My shell, 15,000miles, full SD cage, HH strengthening kit, seam welded, MINT condition and only 25miles down the road :thumb:

My biggest problem with ebay and stuff like that, is all I really need is the shell and a few parts, the majority of the car is going ot be totally stripped and customised with a special engine set up that i have devised standalone management and a progressive but harsh nitrous system which I am going to home build. everything pretty much will be customised to allow for it to be adjusted and fettled until its runs perfect!

I kno its kinda picky!

have you tried scanning local sites or trade-it and pistonheads?
some cheap stuff comes up in there often you just have to keep an eye out

by the time youve got a shell and welded it up and strenghed it, and bought a cage, repaired the rust, etc etc you would be spending about a grand.

I can get you a 1987 nova SR shell with running gear, no rust and boot and spoiler, for about 300 quid, i think its in yorkshire but im not sure. let me know ;)

thanks all, gonna buy the shell of draper. by the end of the weekend will prob have my mad plan hatched. will post up a proper resto thread on this one!

i got a shell totaly rusty free painted inside and out harry hockley weld in cage stitch welded not a spot of rust on it but it is only a shell nothing else on it £500 base plates welded in for a cage ect

thats a lovely shell, just a bit too far for me to pick up

I dont want anything spectacular, just a bog standard semi rotter that I can strip and use my imagination on. Price range is up to £500.
