Will get better more pics as i do little bits here and there.
is a solid shell just needs the arches doing propperly (which i intend to do asap) and also there is a little scab of rust in the boot which im going to wire wheel and prime for the time being.

When i got home i thought i would have a little mince and fit this

Just need a wrap around spoiler and bumper and moulding strips on it.
Was going to put orange on it but im not 100% what colour will go with the green now

i also got half way through putting my stereo system in it as this is going to be my daily driver but top gear started so i left it for tomorrow

Comments welcomed Jimbo

cheers well it was well worth the 560mile round trip to get it. also was fun on the way back in the 1L 4 speed lol

All i will be looking at doing is dropping it on some wheels maybe even just some SR steelys :)

Engine change maybe later on in its life if i still have it when i can afford to insure it with a bigger engine, Thinking maybe working my way up through the Engine so i will have it for many years to come.

It's a tidy one for sure. I think a white stripe with white steelies/alloys would suit it. Looks similar to mine especially if you fit a orange stripe lol

TBH I wouldnt even put the Snow Plough on it. Try and get some 14" SRI Style steels and lower it, I reckon that'd just about do it.

Plug
09-08-09, 10:43 AM
/\ i know what you mean dod it looks good without the plough but the lower valance has been painted with a brush so until i get the bits ready for paint its staying.

still going to get a wrap around and a pin stripe thou.

Cheers gunny isnt it the same colour as the loon?

Looks sweet dude, really like the retro look!

I was gutted this morning i rang a ad from our local paper that i was told about, was a mk1 86 sr with 80k on it, one owner form new sold on first day of add for £200!

I would of loved to bought it....

Plug
09-08-09, 11:10 AM
that was a bargain even if it wasnt mint :(

yea this is a nice clean car for my daily.

passengers arch is going to need doing, small amount in the boot floor and a drivers wing. then odd bits of paintwork here and there.

Hoping as soon as i can insure a 1.3/1.4/1.6 one will be going in it.

Will a 1.7 TD 5 speed box fit on the 1L??

scott.parker
09-08-09, 11:15 AM
Yeah i would kept the SR if it was really nice, if not just tarted up and sold it on.

As for engine change, i wouldn't bother keep it as it is, spend as little as possible etc.

No idea on the box either mate.

i know i will want more power in it though. when my project is finished i will prob get a sr lump for it

scott.parker
09-08-09, 11:20 AM
"IF" you must change i would just get a 1.4 SR/SRI lump (still cheep insurance, and cheep tax etc) and the SRI would give good fuel economy etc, or even fit one from say a scraped mk3 Astra?

Scott

Plug

But thats it.will be sorting out the arch with a repair panal asap cause theres a few little bits here and there i want painting. Dents removed and so on

Plug
10-08-09, 11:22 PM
got some 14" sr steelys put to one side for me from Floydy13 and got another set when napalm sorts his ass out and gets some new wheels lol.

So some widened Sr steelys for this hopefully in the near future if i can find someone to do it :)

Also some green head rests for the Back :)
