Thought id fire up a thread showing what us north east mincers got up to this weekend, well myself Novafusion-Rob and Hendrix......


Went over to sunny scunny on friday afternoon after work to be handed a cold beer and a ratchet....

And to find hendrix in his newly acquired cav terb/derv dropping off an enigine crane for our usage....

No rust at all to worry about, proof once again that this is a very tidy shell even if it has got silly arches and a massive ass

Next up, 1400 SR engine being built up ready to fit, over went the 1200 alt and a few other bits, we had fun finding all the required studs as the SR lump had none in it and the 1200 refused to give its studs up.....

Then it was off to find hendrix' old SR at his grans house and errr, borrow some bits from it and were greeted with this poorly looking little thing......

Then it was back to robs to fit up the freshly stolened bits and turn her over (no plugs in to make sure she spun freely, and no she just clicked so we figured the started was seized so on went the 1200 one and hey ho turn over she goes lol)

All built up and run up to temp, cooling fan kicked in and no leaks, checked the gearbox oil and lined up the linkage, got all the gears and took her for her first mission, 1200 - 1400 SR in roughly 48 hours lol

Aye he still has the poor old girl, she is looking very unhappy with herself at the mo though:cry:

And andy bought his as it stands, i bought mine with the GSi bumpers but i did the rest of it myself, the skirts wheels full leather swap just to mention a few, his is an izuzu TD too, theyre the future, i filled mine the other week and ive done over 160 miles in it and still not dropped below three quarters of a tank wooo lol

What type of Cav is it Spud, salon or hatch version as im not overly sure lol might keep my eyes out for a minted TD an spec it up myself.

both saloons, hatches don't have as much of a boot/are shorter.

Theyre both saloons dude, mines an LS TD and i think andy's is a GLS TD cos his has ghey stuff like ABS lol

Yea my GLS (petrol) was loaded with random extra's aswell lol might look a bit more int tho. Claim Tax relief on the fuel aswell I can ;) plus they haev uber bootage!

Mines just done heading toward 200 miles on quarter of a tank so you cant argue at that, speak to baxter about tunage, ant you can fit the owrld and his dog in the boot, ive got a twin 12" vibe sub-box in the boot, and still have more storage space than you get in a novas boot and backseat lol

haha great thread spud/rob. Was a good laugh crackin on. 3mins to change the starter not bad either including the rewire lol. Chelle told me to say that its actually her sr and not mine haha. Shame that the chassis leg needs weldin altho it looks like loads more needs doin now. Maybe one day haha. Spud, rob fancy a mince at mine this weekend fitting the let?
