My gear stick moved around all the time, vibrations through the wheel can be caused by many things.

To change it you'll have to support the engine with a crane. new ones shouldn't be all that expensive.

by crane he just means a lifting method - dont go hiring out pickfords!

a block and tackle, engine hoist, ratchet strap

anything like that

another alternative is to hold engine from below using packing and a pallet truck

hold engine from below using packing and a pallet truck

or you can just use a trolley jack

The bigger the tool, the bigger the toy.

I have access to such things, therefore I use them.

Pallet Trucks provide too much excitement for me :(

well for scotte's sake an engine hoist/crane as you said, or a trolley jack would be easiest to use as they allow fine movement up or down. can always use the front end loader on a tractor/jcb if ya wanna, can be a laugh when you pick your car off the floor by mistake

(no shit, i know someone who got a dumb as fcuk mate to sit in the tractor and operate the levers, he wasnt happy at the result)
