rev limiter at 1000rpm. PLEASE HELP!!

Hi all, am having trouble with a fault on my nova c20let. It idles fine but as soon as i press the throttle it makes all spark go mad. Have tried changing everthing abvious. Been told its the rev limiter, does any1 know where the ecu gets a signal from so it can limit the revs??

found the fault, three teeth on crank wheel bent giving strange ignition fault

3 bent teeth ? did the engine fall off a bench and land on the pulley or something ?
