well im going to be respraying my nova at some point, im decent at spraying with rattle cans, i do it all properly with no runs and a decent finish (such as my headlining, door car pockets etc etc) i also realise spraying with a compressor and gun is very very differant,

il be buying my compressor this week, then ill be gettin my gun and oil filter for the air line, im going to spray up my panels in my garage, as there is enough room for this, but for the rest of the chassis, e.g. rear quaters, whole shell.. engine bay etc my best bet is on the gravel behind my garage, but this will lead to loads of **** in the paint work,

does anyone use an inflatable spray booth or anything of the sorts? (do they even make them?!) just thought it was worth an ask :) any tips are much appreciated (even if it is just, 'dont bother') lol

Try this mate. :thumb:

CLICKY SPRAY (http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/spray-technique.htm)

And remember its all about the prep work not just the spraying. :)

Your best option from what ive seen/heard is to wet the floor outside and see about getting a 4sided gazebo thing.

thanks for the help chaps, yeah a gazebo was the best i could think too, it would have to be a big one to fit a car in though and they aren't cheap!

thanks for the advice chaps

Came out fine, haven't flatted it yet either lol. I would prefer to paint in somewhere more suitable, didn't have a choice though!

Pro: no! lol

Yep that's the same one and it's cheaper now! It was ruined when I was finished. The wind wrecked it and there was paint on it lol

There's pics if you click through the WIP thread but here's a couple:

ive just sprayed mine in similar gazebo/ marqie thing came out pritty good if i say so my self , will put pics up soon , one tip i can give u is do plenty of research on u tube , also get a seperate inline regulator that has a water trap built in , got mine from aldi only cheap but did the job fine , when the trigger is applied to the spray gun IE as if it was being used set ur inline regulator to 28 psi when the trigger is released this should rise to about 45 ish but the important psi is the one when its running*** 28 *** then just fine tune for amount of paint on gun etc , let us know how u get on , and i was amazed how easy it was so dont worry theres always wet and dry paper if there is any imperfections

kev your effort is well impressive! you too fennah, 10/10 for you both lol

well im going to purchase that gazebo i think, will probably hang some plastic sheeting up on the inside so i can reuse it as an actual gazebo, although in my 21 years on this planet i have yet to have needed one haha,

im going to get a air compressor and an inline oil filter (and a regulator from the sounds of things!)

i think i have found my colour :) :) its a ford colour, i saw a new ka (heave) in it, its like an off white/cream colour v.nice, might attempt to do it that colour, nothing like running before you can walk!

did you just do primer coats/paint/laquer? how many coats of each? i am going to buy a book on the subject etc because its abit differant from just spraying up alloys, ill try and find a picture of said colour anyway!

cheers for the advice!

edit: been looking for the colour, its either ford piste or ford chrystal, anyone know any online paint resources that could help me out?!
