Not hard at all - budget around £400 for second hand bits and you will be OK.

If you want to go with ignition management this will creep up a bit

You need Carbs, Inlet manfold, alternator lowering block and adjuster, fuel reg and dizzy from a 1.6 Cav mk2 with vac advance.

First off you will need to have this moved to the technical section :thumb:

Disagree with you there Will, I'd say more like £600 after having it setup.

Possibly - but I reckon I could get it all on and set up for that....

T40s with inlet £200 (I would wait for a set to come up - it does happen)

Dizzy etc £60

Fuel gubbins £30

Brackets (if its not included with the 40s) £30

Set up (bloke by me £30 p/hour) £60

£380 all in - OK I am really tight and wopuld wait, but its do-able.:thumb:

You don't need to rebuild the engine unless it needs it, throw it in and see how it goes.

At least with a carb setup theres less fooking about with wiring

WIRING ISNT HARD!!!!!!!

and relax.

Will, the cav 1.6 dizzy is for putting carbs on a big block XE. You want the dizzy + ign module + wiring (oh noes) that go with it from the 1.4 carbed engine.

2* 40mm carbs with a DCOE flange
1 DCOE inlet manifold suitable for the head you have (ie 1.6/1.4mpi, 1.4Carb/1.4 and 1.2 spi or 1.2 and 1.3carb)
a fitting kit of misable plates/thakery washers etc from raceandroad or similar on ebay
alt lowering bracket + adjuster
3psi fuel pressure reg
suitable fuel pump (facet red top etc)
1.4 dizzy + crap taht goes with.

GET THE CARBS REFURBED!!!!!!!! bent spindles and ****ty seals are THE biggest reason for all the crappy old wive tales about needing to get them setup all the time etc.

oh and a throttle setup for the pedal and linkage.
