agree with above if the roads wernt so slippy i could have got the ''power'' down on the way too pvs and gave you a run for your money :wtf: lol
RJ tells teh troof, Although my 1.2 kept up with a 106 Rallye from first to second in a drag race that has had (apparently) over £10,000 spent on it at pug performance (god knows how some one spent that much on a 1.6 8valve).
The car did have two fat - sorry, well-built - blokes in it. And Kelmel, who I believe actually weighs less than the air she displaces.
The accelerator seemed to do nothing but make a noise lol

My 1.2 did ok to PVS and back last year Jack :P
I had a 1.2 Clio, for the closest comparison, and the nova is quicker/clocks less accurate
The 1.2 carbs are fairly impressive for 55 bhp, but not impressive when compared with anything else. At all. lol :(
But my 1.2 has a 4 branch so its faster than vtrs and gti pugs..
I put a richbrook tax disc holder on my 1.2 4 speed bad boy and now it leaves scoobys, evos, you name it i have beaten it :wtf: lol

with my mates in the car my estate is ubber slow but then they do weigh 100kgs each. 1.2's are nippy enough round the bends altho having said that im getting bored of mine now
1.2,s are awsome and will beat any of you big block boys lol especially with the lightweight 4 speed box lol

Just for the craic.... what have people 'beaten' in 1.poo's? Carb/spi, straight line/back roads. I know that sounds pathetic (and is) but why the hell not.
Obviously anything of this nature will have taken place on a private road. lol

Edit - Also went against a mates 1.2 carb (same engine as mine) for the banter, and had it too, mine revved harder, its a got a 4 branch and straight centre but I doubt it makes any difference? Both private road obv. And yes these claims do make my penis larger lol.

1.2's are great fun around the bends. i beat an audi a4 (2.?? diesel) on a dual carridgeway.. raining, sliding on 4 wheels going through a S turn at 170 km/h lol after that he came back and kicked my a$$

1.2's are.. what, 700kg? 800? with 45 bhp. well we all know that with those figures, it makes a power-to-weight ratio of 1000break horsepower per tonne

getting really bored of my 1.2 now, gonna put the 40s on soon, ive beaten a 1.1 106 on private roads :) and beat a 1.6 asta upto 50
I got beaten round a bend today in my 1.2 in the town centre...
By a lack of grip, ooopes my 1.2 nova spins me right round right round
I can't believe the difference between my 1.2 carb and 1.2 spi, the spi is far slower, but a bit smoother

Yea i cant remember what the speed was but it was epic lol The veyron has nothing on that thing
There was a point when i would claim the 1.2i was 'fast for what it is' what I meant by this obviously was a wheezy 45bhp only pulling 750ish kg, but nevertheless i used the word fast.
Soon realised what a load of crap I was spouting though lol I would call the 1.6 nippy now, it's about 60 bhp short of 'fast' lol

@lynz: the problem is that we are spoiled. driving c20xe nova's and all.
i borrowed my mates astra mk3 gsi 16v (c20xe) for 2 weeks, and i was bored. no wheelspin when shifting to 2nd gear, took ages to reach 7000 rpm in 2nd.*
and its not the car, car is mint, engine is in great condition and all, but the nova XE just spoiled me. even my mates honda b18 vtec is boring

Aye, but torquey. You can drive them balls out with no complaints though.
I believe they are so slow due to having barely any lift on the cam lobes. To drive they feel like they redline at about 3000rpm. SPi is way worse than the carb models don't forget.
