8am get to draycott, finally find her house after asking postie "is there a yellow car round here"....
after the usual pleasantries, i get shown a small yellow thing that looks like a tigra. upon closer inspection ( read 5 mins quick walkround...) i find the following....

front end is completely the wrong colour, and the bumper is full of filler.

aux belt tensioner bolts snapped off in block

slam panel bent down

sills are bubbling under trims

tyres are balder than i am

rear arches are like a 19 year old dog with a skin complaint:wtf:

nsr qtr has been replaced, and welded on by stevie wonder whilst pi$$ed

rear panel is actually red inside boot trims and has been "seam sealed" using filler....
passenger footwell is wet through

and the coup de grace...

the little git doesnt run....

cue the owner saying, "oh it ran yesterday, must be out of fuel"

£5 of fuel later still no go, plenty of fuel no spark.
looking closer there is cobwebs all over the bay, so i ask when it last was on the road. " 1 year ago" comes the reply. by now im seriously hungry, cold and
hacked off, having been told in emails from her "i laid it up a month ago and it was perfect. and the bodywork is great" obviously she has the same optitian as mr wonder too......:wtf:

so utterly dejected, i drove home to hull.....








... and bought a bmw 323 e36 touring, with the 2.5 24v lump, manual box and fsh, 180k and fresh mot for £400. not bad really......:thumb:

morning. i understand that for 260 i wasnt expecting facctory fresh but i didnt expect a written off sack of crap. oh and as a footnote, i hpi'd it last night via a mate in the trade. its beeen cat c writtten off twice, and stolen rec. so if anyone else sees it back on the bay in a weeks time, DONT BLOODY BUY IT! nbc, i've had my uncle and myself crawl all over the bmw, and its pretty much mint, its an ex reps car, hence the slightly high miles as it did 90k in the first 4 years, and has had just 3 owners. i hpi'd it and its clear. oh and a full service kit, of oil filter fuel filter plugs air filter pollen filter and 5ltrs of half decent oil is £34.99 from gsf. and theres some tasty bilsteins on one in my local scrappy...... :D

well, i picked up the barge this morning, and then went to u-pull-it at york, just for a nosey. now the barge has a serious case of gravel rash, and the front wings , bonnet and headlight panel have caught it. also the doors are doing the nova trick of bubbling on the corners. all cosmetic crap but none the less it detracts from what is a really good car. so me and a few others are having a peruse around. i get to the bimmer section and lo and behold, a e36 tourer the same colour as mine, with very minor damage to the headlight. so after a very thourough inspection of it, a deal was struck. for £150 i got all 4 doors with electrics etc, the bonnet, boot, wings and bumpers, and interior (mines got a split bolster) and the alloys. all the replacement panels are mint with no rust. i just gotta go next sunday and strip em off. so pics of the barge. she scrubs up well. oh and the best bit? it has full bmw service history. happy days.
