View Full Version : How easy to remove a roof lining?
As per title, any ideas how easy it's be to remove the roof lining ffrom a mk1? The car is b reg, so now pretty old, however it still feels quite supple.
What's the chances of getting it out in one piece, i need it for my sport. :(
take your time
get someone to help (and blame if it goes wrong lol)

You'll have to take screen and rear Qtr glass out to have a chance to get it out in one piece
Take the front and rear windows out, hatch and door rubbers off and take your time, its a lot harder refitting it
Not a prob removing the glass. I'll be leaving the fitting to a pro if i can get it out in one piece!

Let me know when you want it fitting, I have done a couple now(Including Keiths Turbo) with good results. When you take it out, remove all the glass and just gently peel off the edges where they are glued but be careful as it can split easily.
Just take your time and you'll be fine!

Cool thanks all/Rich, won't be fitted for a while yet (years lol ) How do the cross rods come out? are they stitched to the lining?
They should just slide out once you have it out, iirc you have to bow (sp) them in/out
