generator 110v to 240v

hey all, anybody know if you can convert a 110v petrol generator to 240v?

can buy one cheap and really do need to use 240v household equipment off it.

have had a search on google and havnt found the answer i want.lol.

sell it & buy a new one. any attempts to fiddle it will result in a broken genny

On our work vaks we have step up transformers fron 110v to 240v for when sites don't have perminent power and don't allow 240v extension leads, looks like a std construction transformer but the plugs are the other way round, not to sure on the price or the load rating but could be cheaper than a new genny.
