View Full Version : XE low oil level warning light?
Can i wire up a low oil level warning light up my 20XE?
My Cav's got one and i miss it!
Should be as simple as running a light and a live and earth, best finding a wiring diagram for a car (so your cav) so you can get it right :)
I'd say it should be quiet easy, all xe's have the sender for it in the sump pan
I thought so, just a earth and live to a un-used bulb in the dash :) Ta
Should be. Are they a two pin item or do they earth through the block?
Gotta say i'd be worried if you where seeing it....
He didnt say he needs it but its handy to have if you gain an oil leak and didnt notice. I just 1.5ltrs in mine yesterday lol
At what point does the switch close though? lol
I.e. does it bring the light on when youve got about 2L of oil left in? lol
Probably comes on at the same time as the oil pressure light lol
Yeah. AKA "Your engines fcuked" light

Not on a 1.2 8v! used to use it as a G-meter and the little barsteward never kicked the bucket lol

Exactly, the one on the Cav is great as i know its a slight oil leak so as soon as light pops on, i just throw some oil in!
It would be nice to have it on the Nova too..
