The nova failed the mot!

Not happy now, after months of work on it. It failed on the side repeater bulbs being the wrong colour, 1 tyre and emissions ( and thats after putting another engine in because i thought the old engine would fail the emissions test). The only thing i can think of is that iv got the 1.3sr engine on the 1.2 exhaust with the single downpipe not the double. could this be a probem?

Doh! Bulbs and tyre are an easy fix.

Wouldn't have thought the exhuast would have anything to do with the emissions, what carb are you running?

I take it you've done the simple things like fresh oil and filter, plugs and air filter before test (especially if it's been stood)? how much did it fail by?

All was done before it was put back in. not to sure how much, i left it with them for now to have a look. they will let me know before doing any work but i dont think it will be cheap!

Shouldn't cost much too alter the emissions imo.

it will be nothing!! most mot centres will adjust the carb for you bud so it does pass!!

How crazy is this, just got a call saying they have done the work and passed it. plus its costing less than first quoted. cash back!! Im happy again

The tyre looked fine and the bulbs were working just the wrong colour ( not orange enough)

Do they test for fuel emissions? lol I thought the hydrocarbons bit referred to soot/smoke :p
