can an f16 be fitted to a 1600 small/short block im asking cos i have been offered a 1600 but in not sure if its a big block or not cos it has a f16 on it :thumb:
a 1600 big block should be scrapped. they apparently fitted a few to mk3 cavaliers, but mostly mk2 astras & cav's. they are very old now & hard to tune.

your no help im not asking if they are fast ffs
Whats the engine look like?
an f16 will fit onto both a small & big block engine. but i wouldn't bother getting it if it was a big block one.
go & look at it... a lot of people have made the mistake over the years that a 1600 must have a f16 box.....

i dont know someone else is bringing it to me:( am i right in saying a small block 1600 will have the oil filter at the front and a big block will have the oil filter at the oil pump :thumb:

its geting brought to me but just found out it has the oil filter at the front
unless it is very cheap, or comes with the correct driveshafts, it is not a good option

What gearbox are you running at the moment? Just wondering if it's worth swapping.

nae good need an f13 for my 4.3 final drive:d
i have a f13 cr in bits at the moment, I stripped it down to swap the ratios from a cr to a wr in situ in my car. it has a 3.94 diff, but as its apart, it would be an easy swap..... I even have gm gaskets for it. pm if interested...

im hopping its not a big block cos it would be no good to me craig:thumb:
they were small block, & got used in the caterham scholarship race series. a local bodyshop used to straighten them, & i had a good look at one when collecting a work vehicle.
