Why didn't you get a tpft insurance instead?

Also try admiral/elephant, stick your parents on as second drivers and it may bring the price down a bit.

I'm assuming this is for a standard car?

No ncb 1st year driving and had a crash, the price didn't go up after the crash though

I had a clio when I 1st got the policy

wel my first insurance was on a 1.1 pug 106 and it was 1200 fully comp.

i ended up driving a bmw 330ci and it was 500 fully comp at 24. changed it for an E30 BMW 327i which was £500 (for an older car??) then i bought a ford puma 1.7 and it went up to £660! rubbish.

However a quote on my redtop nova was £470! woop

best thing to do is grin and bear the first year...be sensible and get 1 years no claims under ya belt....also do pass plus as it gives you 1 years no claims to start with which at some companies equates to 30%. my pug dropped from 1200 to 800 in 3 months just for doing pass plus

i'm paying £490, no ncb first year policy with all mods declared on my 1.2 :)

on a serious note, i've always noticed the 1.2's are more expensive to insure, try looking out for a 1.0 or even a slightly bigger engine and check the quotes again.

i have a 1.2i mk2, and with my provisional i got a quote for 550, and since i have passed its gone up to 650 so i dont think its so bad, altho that is third party fire and theft

If you're under 20 that's pretty good. My first year was something like 970, 2nd was 970ish too actually, but with +70bhp and -60mm, 2 seats, and some interior lol

hi guys need some advice. ive got an evo 6 tommi makinen replica. its a 1.3
im insured as a second driver my dad is the first hes got a couple of years no claims bonus and had a lisence for over 10 years.i am going to do a evo 6 engine swap to it. i want it to be legit so therfore i am going to declare it on the v5 and tell my insureance company, however will i still be able to get insured on it eventhough i was previously insured for a couple of months as a 1.3. will i still be able to get insured as a second driver? if so how much will it go up by roughly?
