any advice from people who have played with this engine?
what parts to fit/not fit
not really wanting to spend £1000's just nice sensible stuff for a road car

mild cam, port and polish, 4 branch and decent exhaust system, the list is endless mate

ye has to be reliable.
was thinkin 270* cam
mild headwork
full re-build bolts+gaskets
will have to keep the catalytic so i'm unsure on exhaust as yet
dunno if i can get a ecu chip?

any further suggestions would be nice?

need a budget matey.

headwork
newman fast road cam
arp rod bolts
lightened/balanced bottom end
twin 40s or throttle bodies
decent ex manifold/system

budget will help massively. and whther you want mainly bolt on goodies or full engine strip. if want a head doing drop me a pm:thumb:

imho no need for 40's or ITB's.

Megasquirt and keep the existing inlet manifold but get a bigger TB for that. You can get the same power/torque as T40's with that method (and of course suitable mods)

and you siad ya just wanted a std rebuild

id go
port work, cut back valve stems , dowled matched maifold . cut back valves and 3 angle seats
good magnex type exhuast with a sports cat and a 4 branch manifold not 1 of those crude 4-1s eathier il tell ya how to make a good one for cheap hehe
and that chip is really give it a go see wht gains it gives

and 40's arent? lol I love carbs but I'm not delluded enough to believe they are perfect.

All ive done to mine is,

Kent cam
Ashley system
16v injectors
Boost valve
N i bought a inlet and a tb and completly cleaned it in work in an ultresonic cleaner.
