Chances are they wont MAKE replacements, they will have to order in replacements, and as stated they wont be cheap and if its a newer one then they will need coding to your vehicle so that means getting your car recovered to them and the workshop charge for coding!

as said they will need your car to code the new keys plus id and a v5 for the vehicle i got quoted around £100 from vauxhall for a corsa b key that was after i got it recovered to them

if you have lost the master key, you need a new ecu as they cant code without it.....

when i priced up a replacemet key for my old focus ford wanted £105 just for the key fob cut not programed to the car

old fiats used a master key system, no idea if other manufacturers did. newer fiats just used a code system, and i'd imaging that would be the same for ford. try contacting your insurance to see if they will cover the cost.

The missus lost the keys for her megane a couple of weeks ago. Renault made her a key that would only open the car so she could get her stuff out and release the hand break and steering lock so it could be towed. That was £70 and then when we got the car to the dealership they did the code for the immobiliser instantly and that was it. The coding was another £35 though!

I assume it will be a similar process for a Focus?

Really????

I work in the parts dept at a renault mainstealers and trust me dude they messed up on the prices, depending on the year youre looking £90 for the blip, £12 for the key blade and £50 for the coding, so you were very very lucky there:eek:

Oh and ive been there done that with my van (ren traffic), I think the key i got for £70, and to program it was about £40, but this is a couple of years ago.

BMW are good, a new lockset with CAS(Car access) control unit for the current generation are expensive. A new set fitted and coded is near on a grand!:tard:

New keys are easy tho as they come pre coded & cut for the vehicle :)

I think merc prices are even worse than BMW lol

Try an auto locksmith, a good one can program keys via the odb port much cheaper than ford will.

lol

Yeah just bend the top of the door back to get in, then turn the hazard light button upside down lol

Ive got a mk1 nova now though and it doesnt let you do the hazard light thing ??

Jack

Thats because the Mk1 switch is wired differently. And you don't even need to bend the top of the door

As said call an auto locksmith.

I bought a Fiesta Zetec Salvage with no keys, bloke came out in van 30 minutes and £100 less i had a running car, he cut key from fitting blank into door then took the code off the reader and reprogrammed blank accordingly.
