as above, finally got another job (working for nissan at sunderland) so decided to finish my carb'd engine. a few of you will have seen it at PVS, was bodged together with a std. XE in which it still has although its much tidier now. anyone got an xe on carbs and how did you go about fitting alternator? seen a one front mounted whih would be better for clearance so think i might give that a try, anyone done this?. any pics and info would be gratefully appreciated too.

Same here, even used the original top bracket as the manifold had the thread for it.

Depends which inlet manifold, alternator and bracket you use as mine fouled like a bastid so i made up a custom adjustable bracket - its for sale if your interested
