View Full Version : Yay, finally got my Nova........
Picked up my Nova last night. As some of you may know ive been buying some bits to do up a Nova SR that I was going to buy. But then this little gem come along for ?700. Thought it was a fair price for a reasonably tidy motor with six months tax and test. Just going to finish building the spare engine I have and drop her in.
Mental note : Get brakes sorted, can be a little soft to say the least lmao

Is that a genuine Gsi or look a like!? If it is a GSI then u are a lucky bstard coz that price is a BARGAIN even if the engine was fcuked coz youd easily get more than that for other parts!

But im selling it to buy a house so I got the Nova as a cheap runabout. Yes it is a genuine GSI btw :) And have a spare engine in the garage which is getting alot of loving.
Sorry techie! Just most of the newbs on here are like 3 yrs old! They are like im 16 and just got a GSI for a bargain and I think $?@^:>^$?@>^?^ If you know what I mean! Then they ask for advice on where to get insured for under ?500 fully comp! "?%?%^$?^?^ AGAIN!!!
Anyway mate Bargain there! Show Ade when he back he wont be best pleased since it looks like his 1.4!

?700 is about the average price these days but that car looks better than average so you have a bargain.

Course I know where it is, my car sees more of that place than it does my garage! HAHA it ain't that bad!
It's in for it's 1st service next week, promise you and Alistair take care of it! Oh and can someone disable my seat airbags on 1552 (or whatever it's called) please? :D
Afraid thats a no on the airbag front. In theory yes its possible but we are not legally allowed to do it.

Are you changing the seats urself? If so just disconnect the battery, leave it for 15mins the dissconnect the plug under the seat. Dont worry it wont go off. Then if you bring the car in we may be able to reprogram the Airbag ecu to delete the side airbags and your light should go off. However its probably best you dont mention this when booking the car in, just pop your head in the back and have a word with either Ali or myself. And we could also give you a hand with the seat for beer tokens :wink:
If it's as easy as just undoing the battery and then unclipping the plugs from the seats then that's cool! The new seats are airbagged so I am hoping I can get them to work like the old ones would.
The seats aren't gonna be easy to fit, me and Mark Phelps (you know him? has a white MK2 Ibiza, helps Chris with rallying) need to knock up some brackets and then fit them, the seats are about 3" thinner so they aint easy to fit!
