does anyone recognise this sensor?! <not nova>

Found it right near the fuel pump on my astra van 1.7dti, my dad says it looks like a boost sensor, but there is no pipe work going to it at all!

yer that is a absolute pressure sensor, some measure the atmospheric pressure, or the pressure inside a manifold or a intake pipe

well should there be a pipe going from it to somewhere matey lol and what effect does not having anything attached to it do?

Turn it over, is there an attatchment for a pipe? if so iirc it runs around the side of the pump and down. You have the 16v isuzu yeah (y17dt?)

yeah i do! no pipe though, is it supposed to run to one of the air intakes behind the front bumper?

No the plug for it will be on the engine loom somewhere.
