Got an interview first thing tomorrow morning, need to put a cv together but no idea what im doing. Ive found templates etc on the internet but as im not posting it to the company i dont know what to put as my opening section/objective?

Someone in the company gave them my number and they called me to see if it was interested and arrange an interview. I wasnt looking for another job so cant say im looking for this or that, its the same job but a different garage (vauxhall mechanic).

The only sample cv's ive found are for people with a working brain and looking for higher jobs/ office jobs lol

Anyone got any sample cv's (simple ones) or know a good site for them?

I would make it to the point, no need to waffle on - they know what they want and you need to make your c.v. fit what they want.

First start with name, address, age and if you drive. Secondly appropriate qualifications. Thirdly some recent work past and any things you've done there that stands like helped put in new process, cut the time down to do services etc and fourthly what you're goals are - like to move to a gaffers role etc and why you want to move to them and not stay with your old company, i.e. their reputation is better etc. 1 page should actually do it.

Good luck with it.

see RJ's siggy, there is a good CV tips thing in there.

Keep it short, sweet, to the point, relevant to the job, quick personal statement about what you do and want to do, socialising and cinema are NOT hobbies, dont include crap grades for subjects (dont lie). WIN

See the green link in my sig at the far right for all you need to know :thumb:

Remember, a CV is a generic fact list about yourself. Save the waffle about why you'd be good for the job for the covering letter.
