Halfords Aerial

Hey! I still can't get my gay Halfords roof aerial to work its the rear roof kind and i've put it on. I'm sure it was only one wire that goes to the back of the radio - i've checked all the connections but someone said maybe i need to earth it? Anyone had any experience with this type? Joe

it seems the un powered / amplified ones are pretty useless?

DONT earth your aerial :o

what you should have is the aerial connection - long funny looking plug, and if its an amplified one it should have a blue wire or smaller wire accompying it.

connect the blue on to the elctric aerial / remote output of your HU

Being a Ripspeed specialist at Halfords....To get those aerials you are talking about to function correctly...It DOES boil down to having a good earth as with most aerials! My tip is to be careful where abouts on the rear of the car ya fit it cos there are 'beams' running across the roof under the roof lining, which can effect the reception quality if ya drill straight through em!.... Also use some 60GRIT Aluminium oxide paper to run down the surface under the roof lining were the hole is.....Then and only then....Will the aerial function...
Trust me....I have the aerial and had the problem! :)
