1.6gsi e16se engine managment light ocassionaly flashing and car losses power feels like air flow meter but swapped it for another 2nd hand one and no difference. dont really want to pay £257 for an air flow meter from vauxhall lol any other ideas to what it could be??? cheers

How does it 'feel' like the AFM????

Read the fault codes is the obvious answer tbh. Unsure how its done on these but a search or look on TopBuzz should show you what pin to earth & how to count the flashes & cross reference the code chart. L-Jetronic is so simples it shouldnt be anything major or expensive.

it feels like it when your going along like the the power gets restricted like somethings blocked maybe?? turn the ignition off whilst going along couple of seconds later turn back on and its fine. and pin to earth on what? cheers

something like this happened to me after rebuilding my gsi and it was the head gasket, it had a small blister on it. is your car blowing white smoke out the exhaust?
