I am abit stuck on ny nova its a H reg 1991 iam getting the body sorted out and sprayed. I want to get Gmax Springs and dampers all round but i want it to look good and still handley really well. I was going to get 15inch rims with 185, or 195, How low am I alound to go plus i dont want to roll the arches is 30mm to low to go.

You can go down to 35mm and it will handle like a dream much better than standard if you go lower you may lose handling.

You may have to grind a few mm of though but 30mm will do great but a little bit high. Also will be about the same amount of grinding.

in the past i ahve tried allsorts, the best by far from my experiences was the present billie sprintline kit, bit expensive and only an alleged 35mm drop but by far the best so far. I have more faith in the feel of the car than with other depths of drop. i run cav gsi 15" alloys with 195/45/15 tyres and havent had to touch a thing regards arches, correct offset and no probs at all

Yeah like said in last post. If you dont wanna touch your arches you will have to get a set of Vauxhall 15" wheels, that way the size will be perfect & you will be able to lower it no problem...

Or Speedlines or Team Dynamics! They do 15's and 16's in et49 and u will be able to drop 60mm without any arch work! almost guaranteed! 195-45's best!

it is really the offset that is the key.... so always check that first

Are you assking for help frog? If so then is your car lowered?

If so then it will most likely bve because of the uprated springs making the ride harder.

If not then push down on a corner of the car and let go if it bounces up and down more than 1 and 1/2 times then FCUK shocks!

Tis rite I think!

but car isnt lowered its just got standard springs....
thinkin bout changing springs/shocks

what do ya all recomend?

my wheel just misses the back arch, but is miles away from the front, harden the back and lower front?

would new standard springs be good enough or would i have 2 get somethin bit better??

Frog, it might not be your springs, but your chocks that are knackered. If you go to Vauxhall and get standard replacement parts you will be charged a small fortune.

Depending on how much you want to spend you can get full susspension kits for as little as ?150. You can then pay up to ?1000 for coil-overs.

coil-overs?

what are these?

Coil-overs are the top of the range springs.

You can adjust the ride height and hardness/softness of the suspension to suit your needs.

There are loads of companies that do coil-over suspension kits, here are a couple of sites that might explain things a bit better...
