Aww poor you, it takes about an hour for me, and the youtube vid that was posted the other night of the wheelieing mr2 at pod (1.50 mins long) took about ten minutes to buffer enough to watch through in one go:eek:

This is normal for me:cry:

Don't get how i'm on a London server <50 miles away when i'm in Manchester though?

The server is the location that you are running the speedtest from. Not your own location.

Mine

Not bad for a 3G+ mobile broadband connection, it must be because its off peak hours, so theres not much traffic on the network.,

Ah, knew I was rubbish with computers lol Just saw Twisty's saying Manchester and most other London ones are people near London.

FFS

Why do people post speedtest.net results... thats useless at telling you if its "good" or "bad". Just willy waving at who's got a decent-ish speed.

If you really want to know how good your connection is, use the BT speedtester and post results from that, as it shows your IP profile. Hence mine, 2kbps when my IP profile was 2mbps - thats bad. Very bad. ADSL24 got an ass kicking over that one lol

15-07-09, 11:56 AM
http://speedtester.bt.com/

Your DSL connection rate:
7520 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
448 kbps(UP-STREAM)

IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6010 kbps

The BT speedtest refuses to work for us in Hull, probably because we arent on the BT network (in fact, BT don't even recognise my postcode as being a valid one!).

Currently sat at this though, pretty much the norm for me,

do you have to be on bt for there speedtester to work as its not working for me either

Jack
15-07-09, 11:21 PM
No, should work for any network. My dad uses Orange LLU (i.e. not BT infrastructure) and it still works on his...

I must have tried it at least a hundred times now, and all I get is this,

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v689/mickyd79/computer/btspeedtesterror.jpg

I wonder if turning the ping blocking off on the router might sort it out, but I doubt it. *EDIT* no that didn't work, BT = Ghey!
