Nova Saloon (2dr).
Nordic Blue
23,000 miles
11 Months MOT
Currently SORN
Shell
Ok so I bought this car last year as a 1.2, which had only covered 23,000 miles!! The body work/condition is superb and has no rust what so ever. There are a few dents which when caught it the sunlight appear visible but nothing big. The paint work is slightly faded however a good polish should bring it back to glory (I've never washed it).
Engine.
The engine was bought from Vauxhall (reconditioned engine, I have the certificate as proof and the date on the Invoice from Vauxhall) only a few years ago and was purchased by a Nova enthusiast. The engine has only covered 15,000 miles and service every 2000 miles from new !!!!
Engine Spec
C16xe Corsa GSI Engine
Kent Cams
SBD Uprated Steel Rollers
Steinmetz Throttle Bodies
4-1 Custom Exhaust manifold
Custom lower alternator bracket to allow TB's to clear alternator
Ashley Competition Exhaust System 3" Tail pipe
Ported and Polished head
Sachs Performance clutch
F16 Gearbox
Bailey oil breather tank
Samco competition hose
kit KV85 Competition HT leads
The engine bay has been welded using the Chris Ashley Motor sport strengthening kit and professionally painted to match the body work in Nordic Blue
The engine produces 137 BHP (I have no print out, as this is what I was told by the previous owner. The engine is very well known however on PNGclub.com so I feel confident this is more than accurate)
Handling Spec
V6 Brake calipers
Drilled and grooved disk
Removed ARB
GAZ Coilovers
Eccentric adjustable top mounts
VW G60 winter wheels
Brand new Yokohama Proxies spec 2
The Suspension will need to be set-up as I haven’t been able to drive it to make the necessary adjustments. It should just need the tracking done as the top mounts have been set-up correctly so just whip it down a tyre place…
All of these components have been brought brand new so if there is any problems with them it should be easy to sort out or replace as I have kept all the receipts ..even eBay receipts .
I also have a set of Team Dynamics that are Vauxhall fitment for track use (et 49) because the VW is sitting at ET36.
Body Spec
Light weight fiberglass bonnet
Nova sport/ SR front grill
Perspex windows (10 yr. UAV grantee from Plastics4Performace)
Various bits chopped to make it lighter
Interior Spec
Magnum pro bucket seats
Alloy side mounts
Dished steering wheel
MOMO boss
Light weight dash
Rear seats removed (along with metal backing)
SR (yellow) dials
TRS (FIA approved) Harnesses
Battery relocated
Alloy Battery tray
Alloy Navigators footrest
Safety Devices 6 point roll cage with enlarged baking plates
Fan switch
Fuel pump switch
Fuel line shut off/on
The Speedo doesn’t work, this may just need a wire running or new clocks? I’m not sure why as I haven’t fully investigated it! The rear turrets have been welded to prevent cracks or splits and the roll cage is bolted using lock nuts into 3mm steel sheets welded to the shell.
The car is currently SORN until next year (will do that today incase you check) with an MOT untill October 10th 2009 (has covered only a handfull of miles on private land , up and down a drive way, in/out a garage)The car is still register as a 1.2 due to being off the road for over a year whilst it was being built. I have however had the car checked by Vauxhall to confirm that the engine is a 1.6 and the engine number on headed paper , so getting a new V5 shouldn’t cause much hassle.
Any Interest please drop my a PM along with any real questions and I'm happy to find out.
The car is for sale on here but will be on Pistonheads as of next week when I can get a few photos.
Thanks A lot,
£2600 as I'm in no real hurry
Reason for sale is money !!, Can't afford to insure as a second car and I feel that track days would be out of my budget. I'm looking for a nice 1.3 SR with all the interior in tip top condition to maintain and cherish. Everything original or as close too !!!
