Hi I went to a RWYB at Santa Pod yestaday and posted a run of 16.01 out of my GTE, which I thought was really good. I beat a 143bhp Saxo VTS which got 16.29 another VTS that got 16.2, Mini one, 17. something and an AXGT 16.9. My Nova is standard apart from a K&N, Straight through exhaust (No centre silencer) and a Wide ratio F13 box out of a Corsa Diesel. :D

Yea...you must have good reaction times for a time like that...I'm hoping for something like that from my almost standard GTE engined Nova with a drilled air box with straight through exhaust.

I regularly beat my mates 1.6 which has twin 40's @ the traffic light duel...but he has more top end than me, so pulls on after around 105...but by then you've already done the 1/4 mile

lol reaction times dont affect your time over the line.

reaction time is how quickly after the light goes green that you cross the start line, you could sit at the lights for a minute then go and it wouldnt affect your time. the clock doesnt start ticking until you cross the start line.

with one exception at york in the inter club shootouts once you get to the knock out stage the winner is one first past the post not the fastest time. although your time still isnt affected.

Ian,

You sure mate, I think you'll find that the second the light goes green, the clock starts tickin, thats why reaction times are so important. Try it out next time!

Pan@SW-CC.com,

Your mate obviously didn't have the right set up. I used to run around the 15 sec mark with 40's and my start was the strongest part.
