x16xel head work

i am putting a x16xel in a nova and i bought another spare engine to do work on the head. what could i do that will be cheap and will add lots of bhp. would i need to get the car remapped to suit the mods if so how much does a remap cost? :thumb:

is the lower manifold - upper manifold face the same as the x14/16xe motors, or deifferents?

best mod is the powerbox alone, then mild cams, headwork, decent manifold/system, chip/remap, use enclosed airfilter

The lower manifold from the X14/16 should be the same.

And i agree with what has been said above.

Make sure you raise the rev limit even slighty tho, 7k is good iirc.

i am in the middle of making a power box! how can i raise the rev limit? and does it cost much to chip or remap the engine?

There is no such thing......

Cheap things are a copy powerbox, decent exhaust/manifold.
That will add about 15hp and make it a bit more lively.
