Hey!
well this is my work in project,
1.2 Nova Merit Saloon!
It came with an mot and cost £260
drove home fine, but just now i noticed that the dash lights were on without the keys being in the igntioin?!!?!
so ive disconnected the battery for tonight as its raining and dark.

Being young and male ive come up with a ist of things that i want to do to the car, how many of these that i will acheive? who knows!
If you have any advice, could help or know rough prices of things i would be extremely greatful to recive your comments =]

Exterior

Single wiper conversion, with a flat blade, like the mk2 golfs have.
Gsi Body kit? fabricate a rear bumper from 2, and possibly a similar thing with side skirts
de-locked, possibly de-handled with door poppers if im feeling rich
some kind of front splitter
mesh grill
wider wheels
rear disc concersion?
lower it 40-60mm
paint it black and tint the windows?

Interior

Black carpet
black seats
a pair of the semi recling bucket style seats
digi dash
Sound system, boot build

and an alarm system and an imobiliser

anyother ideas?

none the less, here it is!

What plans you got for it mate,

ben-ji
12-07-09, 12:55 AM
tidy it up first
get rid of the old people smell
t-cut
im considering lowering it 40mm(my area is almost as bad as my spelling for speed bumps)
some bigger bumpers, gte/gsi perhaps

tbh mate, 40mm drop isnt worth it, wont really notice it,

mine is 60, an not low enough,

ben-ji

ive been in my mates polo that was lowered 60 and it struggled getting over some of the bumps id be using daily.... i guess if i spend a little more and get coilovers id have the freedom to experiment

saloons can be lowered more than the hatches before they become inadequate (sp)

look at this, this is 60, obviously you dont have the splitter, but if you look at the top of the splitter, thats where yours will be roughly,

http://www.f1pcs.co.uk/photoshop/wickid-two.jpg

im just trying to find a 80 or a 100mm kit for mine atm, without the splitter it looks like a tank, lol

ben-ji
12-07-09, 01:25 AM
perhaps i could go 60mm then. i like the splitter, what car is it from?
im considering having a digi dash as i dont have a revometer in the standard dash.
do you know if the normal hatch back 4 door hatch parts fit on the saloon?
within reson of cours, i know exhausts will need some modification etc

Novaboi_1991

pretty much most of it will obviously exhaust, rear bumpers would need adapting, erm, ive got a digi in mine, lol, erm, the splitter is off a laguna, pm LET_NOVA he had 2 for sale, or if you want a deeper one, the espace ones work well,

ben-ji
12-07-09, 01:36 AM
sweet, what parts does the digi need? when i had the van i was told it needed a transponder/transcoder or something?

Novaboi_1991

youll need the actual digi dash, the wiring loom with both plugs on, and the transducer, which being an SPI you dont need as its compatible... you can get the digi and the loom for about 30 quid

ok, so doing some research into what i can/want to mod, on my list

de-locked, possibly de-handled with door poppers if im feeling rich
some kind of front splitter
mesh grill
multi spoke wheels
rear disc concersion?
lower it 40-60mm
paint it black and tint the windows?

Interior

Black carpet
black seats
a pair of the semi recling bucket style seats
digi dash
Sound system, boot build

and an alarm system and an imobiliser

anyother ideas?

your plans sound good mate, couple of things i wouldnt do from your list, but hey, its your mota,

nice and subtle is the future mate .

gsi front bumper
smooth rear bumper
remote central locking
dehandled rear
id miss the tints, but if you must, 25-35% max
lower 60mm
laguna/espace splitter
delock boot, put a solenoid in place from the cockpit so to speak
adapted GSI skirts maybe?
mesh grille ive always liked, but some might not,
debadge

Rear disk conversion isnt really needed tbh, most people do it for looks, alarm and immo is a must, black carpet yes, buckets in a saloon i never seen the point as you cant get matching rears, lol,

thats pretty much the same plans as me barring a few differences,

ben-ji

remote central locking would be nice, and the buckey seets, not the one peice ones, the ones im on about i saw in a mk2 golf my mate has, recaro style.
who cares about the matching seets? im not sitting in the back lol :p

Not to bad i guess, Shame about it having too many doors lol

Some of the mods i think il silly but meh.

Remote central locking would come with most decent alarms (if you want a complete kit PM me) just need to run all the wires which can be a right pain!

ben-ji
12-07-09, 11:35 AM
well its a list i can be very indecisive, i thought if i wrote it all down then id have it there to refer to. being on limited funds and being a student its not gonna happen all at once!

100mm drop all round would suit the more door loon better than just a 40 or 60.

them loons need uber dropage

hmm, im consider 100's, i just dont want loose the handling bonus you get from lowering it.
im not going to be racing it or anything but its just a bit more fun on the roads

100mm on coilovers or decent shocks should be fine
or just get uprated anti roll bars and strutbrace

or go all out and cage it
