I don't think a 1.4 cam will go straight in because the 1.2 is slot drive dizzy, 1.4 is pin drive. 1300 cam is the only 'straight swap'.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Well as I said the 1.3 (from SR Nova, or mk2 astra etc) cam fits straight in and is a bit better. Or you could get a Kent Cam etc etc but fuelling would have to be adjusted to match.

You have the option of the 1.6 gte/gsi cam (not as straightforward). Some gte cams came with the fuel pump lobe, some didn't. You need it.

Thats all from memory ^^ (iirc info)!

i think the 1.6 cam from an SPI 8v runs a slot drive like your 1.2, and has the lobe for mechanical fuel pump. look into one of those mate.

The 1.6 spi cam would prob be the same as the 1.2 one lol

Leeboo is correct about everything :)

1.3 cam would be your best bet mate.

another guy on here, madman mike hunter had loads of hassle trying to find an ignition setup that would work for his 16SV. he couldnt get hold of a dizzy and coil combo for it, so he tried his old 1200 cam with the slot drive to match his dizzy, but it ran like turd. he then sourced an SPI 1600 job, which he found out had the same dimensions and part number as the 1600 carb model and something else. banged that in and it ran like it was supposed to, and matched his dizzy and coil setup.

so... if u want 1600, u could prob go for one of those, if not a 1300 will be a straight swap too.

on the changing parts front, depending on how old your cambelt is, might need doing, and im not sure if the camshaft oil seal gets touched in the removal/refitting process, possibly that too.
