looking into replacing my 2e for one of these possibly.

are they any good ?
and do they have manual choke ?

actually, scrap that, the 32/34 dtml or whatever its called is supposed to be a superior carb in comparison with manual choke.

They are from the MK1 astra\ Mk2 Cavs. They are meant to be pretty good, but you will need the inlet to match. I think they can go up to about 120BHP. I dont know if many rolling roads know how to set them up. I doubt you would go far wrong with a weber.

Weber all the way.

I had an Astra 1 and four Cav 2's. The achilles heel on all of them was the GM varajet carb. at 60,000 miles they are Ok but at high mileage you get bad cold idle and high fuel consumption.

any idea how much the 32/34's go for roughly ?
ive seen a couple of brand spankin ones on ebay going for £180 ish, but im not payin that much.

I picked a new one up for 70 odd quid on ebay. You have to be careful as they dont always have the right fitting kit so a new adapter plate and linkage can add up. The add on a K&N if your not using the std box or a filter adapter. There are sometime one on the for sale pages on here.
