lol At the sticker on the boot.
Check places that you wouldnt imagine possible for water to get to, you have to give them a serious look over as they really do rot like fcuk and in some unusual places, true sheds but legends in the hot hatch/roy bacer world.

is that a travellers site/pikey site?
I had an absolutely mint 90 spec, was and still is the love of my life! A cabby (funkin hated it) an 88 spec and an xr3
Check bulkhead, boot, sills, rear suspension mounts and floorpan just underneath both front seats.
Also check the oil breathers, filter, and pick up in the sump, common fault, if it starts tapping usually this is what it is not the lifters as everyone says.
Thats pretty much about all serious problems i can think off, other than that, in my eyes, truely an icon, although probably the slowest car ive owned!

am not buying the XR3I as the blokes wife was a cheeky bitch over the fone :)
I love those and I've had loads of 3s and 3is and a few RSTs as well. Great cars and mighty fun to drive.
That has a 90 spec spoiler, but not the 90 spec sill covers and front bumper. I see it has Recaros, worn bolsters and sagging cushons? Main places to look are behind the front bumper, battrey tray, sills, floors (horrible horrible horrible rust lives there in 90% of them), boot floor, underneith and the rear pockets. Its also worth looking to see if the Heater Matrix is leaking as again 90% of them do.
That one is pretty scruffy but if you must have it, get a set of Tinted Black and Red Rear lights, a set of RST Skirts and the proper Vented Bonnet, respray it all red incl around the windows and fit a set of Silver RST wheels or anything else in Black.
I love them.
WRONG. They are sweet motors and really do make you feel like a 17yr old. I will own another this year.
Sweet motor? hahahaha have a word.
You ever owned one though? They have a real nice feel to them, ok, they're a Ford but they are a good motor, fit and loads of tuning and modifying scope.
Driven them, worked on and had to repair them.
Well all 3 are obligitry but try telling me they werent good to drive when they were going well?
Sorry, didnt think it was quick or held the road well.
Aye but that was part of the fun, I love the torque steer and its chuckability.
WTF!? these handle like theyre on rails when they set up well!
Yeah they not fast but they are quick.I would definately own another. My old one got stolen after i parked it up overnight after an electrical fault which blew all the fuses.
