Idle problems

Been having problems with idling on my new engine. The problem changes as it gets warmer, will start idling fine, if a little high (1100-1200) and then slowly get higher until it will sit at 2.5k in traffic. After that it will hunt between 1-2k.

First thing to check was the ICV so I unplugged it, apart from the idle screw needing adjusting down as it now started idling at about 2.5-3k from cold, it shows exactly the same behaviour.

Is this showing up the ICV as knackered, or the ICV not being controlled by the ecu, maybe due to a different sensor fault?

engine? xe/let? def go with the ICV. exact symptoms mine had. you shouldnt really need to adjust the screw anytime.

E16SE, screw was adjusted because I unplugged the ICV to see if it fixed the problem and it started idling at 3k

hmm try a new icv. could you borrow one?

don't know anyone with the same engine, so no. Will try and get a known working one, looked at them new and they're £30 a piece.
