...its swallowing some excellent cars! My mate is working for one of the disposal places in our area, he said theres all sorts there, pulled up on the front in an 02 reg MINT 206 (tiz french though so meh) but he was saying theres things like cally redtops, cav redtops, nova sr's etc etc, and they're all minters (the old folks are chopping in their lifelong cars) its a shame really :( but im getting parts cheap from now on!

gotta be older than 1o years so 02 reg cant go through scrappage, and the cars that go through scrappage scheme must be scrapped complete so ya cant have any parts off :thumb:

I was unsure what he meant by the 02 reg pug aswell:confused: But they can be stripped to bare shells like any other car:thumb:

Thats what i said to him but he said no, they've got Saxo VTR's late vectra's etc, and they can take as much as they want off them as long as the car gets scrapped.

Edit: I enquired about chopping the 309 in but was told it was too old, i guess its different dealerships have different requirements

just checked it out, definitely has to be 10+years old and you can take off certain parts but it must be driveable.

so i was almost right lol

but why would he lie... if he had bought himself/got hold of an 02 reg car he wouldnt be going round saying its one thats been chopped in and getting scrapped.

it will be possible the 02 plate pug is in against scrappage,

some dealers are offering the scheme up to 8 year vehicles and even 8 years.

the car has to traded in as a moving vehicle with mot and be road worthy,

but once its traded in and the disposal company has taken it, anything could happen to it as it will be going straight to the crusher!

What people fail to realise is the interest cancels out the savings pretty much, i work in a dealer.

If anything like a nova sr/cavvy etc appeared at my place it would dissapear lol

no. you cant put a plate on a car that would be newer than the car

EG: you couldnt put K... ,,, on a car that was a J plate
