Anybody own a fault code reader?

Hi just wondering does anybody own a fault code reader? Im looking to buy one and was wondering if there is one people recommend have looked on ebay but am sceptical about buying one and wasting my money. Any help/advice would be great!

i own a mac tools et 80 and is decent not failed me yet

what sort of price did you pay for that?
im looking at one that is £25 on ebay very good feedback from it.

mine was 70quid but its got a lifetime guarntee i got it off the van wat comes round cos im a mechanic

my corsa c has gone wrong and i dont kno what it is, engine managment light is on and i dont want to get ripped off at a garage just for a diagnostic test, i know the inner cv boot has split but that wouldnt cause a drop in power or stalling sometimes. my money was on the egr valve but i dont know!

best thing to do is get it scanned go 2 a back street garage get it scanned and they will let u no weather it be a egr fault crank shaft sensor air mass meter is ur car a 3 cylinder and is it noisy ticking over

nah its a 1.2 sxi 4 cylinder the z12xe, i might aswell buy the fault code reader that way i can use it anytime and will probably pay for itself, unless you have anyother suggestions?

I use it for my Alfa 147. It gets used so often it lives in the gearbox lol. Its a nice bit of kit for the money, always reads the faults ok and can clear them down. You get a book of codes with it which obviously helps working out whats up.

that has been a great help as that is the exact 1 i am looking at. i think it will be very helpful with my dads flippin cars aswell

well u defo need 1 if u have an alfa n kenny man ye just get it bought its a good buy wt ever u get u will get ur moneys worth out of it ur cars familys friends charge 20 sqiud a scan soon pay for its self lol
