is this ok to use with the 2lt 8v? or will i need to change?

Its ok to use but you will have to change the pump in it to a MPi one out of a MPi Astra/Corsa etc.

the 8v has what looks like a fuel pump on it, if not i will put a in line omp one in and just straight feel from the tank

You wont be able to put a inline pump as the SPI has the pump INSIDE the tank.

ok, problem number 1, does any body else know if the 8v had a fuel pump on the top of the engine?

Shouldnt have done. Maybe your looking at the ICV. Smaller 8v's (1.2, 1.3, 1.4 carbs) have fuel pumps driven off the cam.

will have to double check this but from what i remember it has (near the inlet on the top) a silver cylinder with pipes on either end, maybe its the fuel filter then lol

Its the ICV on the top of the engine.
