I prefer the little big wheel drifting vids lol.

The OTT speed reminds me of when I convert anything into an avi using certain programs lol.

FFS! The one I attempted to use as an example is almost the same speed. lol

Here's a better example (of slow footage looking more impressive than it should)

I probably know the one you saw from the owners club. Any pics/vids?

Supposed to be picking another 340/360 up today lol.

haha nice one. Looks familiar, think the lad is called Kaos on the forums and it's a 340 with an F7P Clio valver motor.

Drift day looks fun!

Any more info on the Chevette? behind the Volvo. I'd trade the better drive train/chassis for one of those like! lol

LOLvo looked great fun though :) It's funny lol but I never spun out, you can get some mad angle on the 300's :thumb:
I do spin out, often. lol Yeah man, the Lolvo rocks, line lock valve and tyres for the Wellers next on the list!

Christ, you gonna MiG the diff dude? Can do it in situ on the Sierras, I had an 1800 LX for a bit, but never welded it up, nor tried drifting, gravel tracks FTW though.

This one is smart.

Need to get some decent footage when I next see my mate with his bullet cams and mounts etc. My mate who records stuff now for me uses his phone and gets distracted etc.
Need to go somewhere proper and let rip too!

LOL. Never(!)

What's the plan for you and your mate then, 340's with Clio engines?
Awesome bang for buck IMO.

gunny
08-07-09, 10:43 PM
He wants to use thee standard 1700 and do something with it, i was thinking either clio valver engine (as i have one anyway :p) or bit of boost - 1700 turbo with the renny 5 bits, and yeh 340's

L14MNP
08-07-09, 10:46 PM
Cool. Valver it. So much easier/more reliable lol. Even my mates on 40's is OK considering he's never had it set up :/

We attempted to fit a cammed 2.0 Megane hybrid motor to it but it's a no go ATM. That would be interesting!

Hardly anyone seems to have a 360! If I had known/cared I would have went for a 340 even thought the 60 is a lsightly better car. hey ho, just need to find a 7/940 2.3 turbo donor now lol.

I'm probably gonna sell the T&T'd one I'm collecting tommorrow, unsure if it's a 40 or 60 yet though lol will hoy a few pics up if you're in the market ATM - Leicester isn't that far away. lol

Cool to see the old dogs getting a bit of respect these days. :)

TBH mate back in my 'council estate badboy' days (pre-license ) we bought ourselves a 1.7 340 for £17 (what we collectively had in our pockets at the time) me being the designated driver soon realised what drifiting was :d wanted one propperly (legally) ever since!

So yeh sling a few pics my way if ive got some free cash anytime soon i may be interested mate.

My mate had a 740 turbo not long back but after all the talk of big plans he scrapped it :tosser:

L14MNP
08-07-09, 10:56 PM
£17 haha. Awesome man!

What a d!ck for scrapping a 740 turbo! Does he know how sought after the engines are?!
A mate of mine had a N/A 740 estate with about 3 coils left on every spring (scene kid) bet that would have drifted like a good 'un but it never interested him!

gunny
08-07-09, 10:58 PM
Clearly not lol but even if he did he probably still wouldnt of been bothered. Yeh its just doesnt seem to interest some people does it.. I love it, i used to always go out in my dads old sierra estate as soon as the roads were wet/greasy :d

Edit: Im not saying i'm a drift king btw, but i give it a fooking good go lol

I was never old enough to drive when my dad had his Sierra estate, he had it years and didn't even know it was RWD. There's how much my old man knows/cares about cars! lol

Bet an estate was awesome mate, pendulumn affect anyone? lol

gunny
08-07-09, 11:43 PM
They are pretty good lol my interest in cars comes from my dad always working them on the front. We bought a sierra 1.6 when were were 16/17, i only remembered they were RWD when i went across the boulevard sideways in a small gap in the traffic lol i remember thinking 'oh sh*t :d woooo' haha.

My dads estate was quite controlable tbh, nice and smooth and dint really go wild.

If I weld the diff... Will I still be able to drive pretty normally if I want to?

If I weld the diff... Will I still be able to drive pretty normally if I want to? Yeah mate. Only side effects are the inside wheel will 'skip' during slow/tight cornering. Can make you look a bit of a tit when parking etc. and does wear the tyres a bit quicker, but they don't try and kill you in the rain like you often hear.

The only time mine has been sketchy in the wet was when I had the back seats down and about 200kg of scrap metal etc. that I had cut out of my Nissan in the back, then it was wanting to fish tail all the time (until you built up some speed)

So, don't carry passengers or too much stuff and you will be fine lol.
Mine will only go when I provoke it, and it's not as if I'm down on power as it will happily stay lit right through second and sometimes into third lol.

DO. IT. :thumb:
