Is the oil pressure sender a different size on an an sr1300 engine, i have tried both 1.0 and 1.6 ones and they are to big to screw in ...

the 1300 and 1600 should be the same, its the same design block and i used a 1600 GSi in my old 1.3 and fitted perfectly
edit- the 1.6 one may look bigger as its a 2 pin switch, but the thread is the same

maybe your jabbing it in the wrong hole if its to tight?
I have one from a straight 6 carlton that's been in both a C14SE and X16XE no problem.
The threads should be all the same.

What he said, all threads should be the same. I have a 1.6 one in my 1.2.

i've had another look.. is the sender directly under the altenator bracket , and does it have a plasitc cover over it?
Nope, it goes in the bottom of the block just above the sump pan pretty much in line with the alt bracket.
Haven't got a picture I'm afraid.

Luckily I do have a pic, oil pressure sensor is circled (poverty spec one). Pic is of the oil pump without the cambelt and covers fitted.
