no one told me the pastic knob u have to cut down to engage 5th is actually metal !, took me damn near 20 mins to cut thru it with a standalone hacksaw blade in my hand. would take a picture if i had a camera.
Mine looks like plastic? lol
Mine never needed doing, four speed box out, five speed in and all gears available straight away:thumb:
Mine can get into 5th, but it's 70:30 3rd:5th atm, think i need to trim it a little lol

All the ones I've ever done were just plastic, though I've never done a mk2.

mines mk.1 ! fkin H-shaped piece of metal dipped in plastic it was !
ive got a mk1 with by the looks of it a 5speed linkage on the gearbox, and it wont reach over as the same problem here no more room to move over, how can i tell if it is an acctual 5 speed box or not? some sort of stamp? final gear ratio written on the box?
Mmmmmm twas plastic on my last mk2...
Both my mk1 and mk2 have had the metal inners.

if you look behind the nearside wheel at the end of the gearbox, apprently if its got a huge 40 odd mm nut on the end of the box its a 4 speed, if it doesnt, its most likely a 5.
what part we on about cutting  i swaped mine from 4 to 5 speed and it works fine no cuttin of nowt ?
